When Confidence Feels Inconsistent
Most people don’t lose confidence all at once.
They feel it leave quietly.
One day you feel steady.
Clear. Present.
Then something shifts.
A conversation.
A comparison.
A moment where you second guess yourself.
And suddenly that grounded feeling feels farther away.
This doesn’t mean it was fake.
Or that you imagined it.
Confidence often comes in moments.
When you are aligned.
When you are not trying to be anything other than where you are.
And it fades when we start reaching.
Rehearsing.
Looking outward for confirmation.
Not because we failed.
But because attention moved.
Confidence is sensitive to pressure.
It does not survive being chased.
It comes when you are present.
And it slips away when you try to hold it too tightly.
That is not weakness.
That is how it works.
I share writing like this from time to time.
You can receive it here if you’d like.
